For our Research laboratory in Heerhugowaard we are looking for an enthusiastic

Research Assistant (m/f) – part time (24/32 hours per week)

Your position within the company:

You are self-propelling when it comes to executing research assignments in the area of (direct) seeding techniques of seaweed on various substrates and structures, assessments of anti bio-fouling properties of different materials, performing experiments with various glue compositions as well as optimisation of seeding techniques both for direct seeding and twine seeding of seaweed.

Next to executing experiments you will assist the production department with cleaning and refreshing seaweed cultures and general production work in the laboratory.

Together with your colleagues of the Research & Development department as well as with the colleagues of the Production department, you take care of a decent execution of the research program. You are responsible for the registration of the observations and results coming from the research and for sharing the results with your colleagues. You are able to work individually as well as to perform in a team. The team supports each other to make sure that both individual and team targets are met.

Your profile:

You are a driven, meticulous and methodical Researcher, with a degree from a biological or laboratory education at medium professional level (MBO) that takes his/her job serious. A decent knowledge of (marine) biology and chemistry gives you an advantage to be selected for this position. A minimum of one year of relevant working experience is mandatory. The preferred candidate speaks English (and Dutch) fluently and has a solid level of written comprehension of these languages. We are looking for a team player that shows a persistent, flexible, hands-on and proactive mentality.
